When betting using only your own knowledge you can sometimes forget or not be informed by something very important that would have made you bet differently.
When listening to other experts they can sometimes give you inside information into why they fancy a bet that may be the opposite of what you think will happen.
For example, I like to bet on mma fights, and sometimes I think one fighter will definitely win. Then after listening to other experts you find out that they have changed training camps or are training alone i.e. Mike Perry. Which will give them a huge disadvantage in the fight. Another example is that the fighter you fancy are coming off a huge surgery and know are not the same fighter as before.
This can also be the case when betting football/soccer, sometimes teams save their best players for a cup final coming up and you end up betting heavy on them when their best players aren't playing and they end up losing a game they did not care much for.
Theres many factors that can come into betting, listening to experts can often stop you betting heavy on a bet when you find out more information about the details.
